INTERVIEW: RIOT TEN

Introducing: Riot Ten. Dubstep / trap lord, Apex Legends enthusiast, lover of pickles… he also just dropped his album ‘Hype Or Die: Nightmares’, and has recently wrapped up another run of shows around Australia and NZ.

Describe your music using a movie title:

50% Inception

50% Project X

What’s a weird nickname you have?

Not THAT weird, but some of my friends call me by my old Highschool rap name, Travis King haha ... Other than that, people call me "Riot" almost as much as my real name lol.

Favourite thing about being a producer?

My favourite would be the ability to reach fans with my music. It's truly a special feeling to know that what I've created has had a positive impact on someone's life.

Least favourite?

My least favourite would be the pressure to constantly keep up on social media, but I know how important it is. 

What do you do when you feel uninspired?

Honestly I just take a break from producing and experience life a bit. I listen to different genres of music, play video games, spend time with my family, and come back to the studio with a clear head.

With friends, because you can tell who's trifling. haha

One 2020 music goal and one 2020 non-music goal:

I would love to play more international shows and finally launch my own label. We're almost there!
As far as non music goes, I want to take my entire family on a nice vacation. It's been way too long! 

If you'd never gotten into music, what would you be doing now?

I honestly have no idea. Kinda scary to think about it to be honest. 

Favourite tattoo?

Pennywise the clown tattoo on my hand.

Would you rather: not have elbows or not have knees?

Damn that hurt just to think about! Umm, no knees - I could still use a wheelchair to be mobile. Not having arms would hurt my ability to do just about anything at all. haha
